  • 3 tbsps Bisto Beef Reduced Salt Gravy Granules
  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 white onions, finely diced
  • 1 stick celery, finely diced
  • 2 carrots, finely diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 200ml water
  • 200ml red wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 2 tsps dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan, grated

  • Step 1:

Heat the olive oil in a deep saucepan and add the onion, celery and carrot and and garlic. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 2:

Add the beef mince and fry until browned all over.

  • Step 3:

Add the oregano, rosemary and tomato purée and fry for another minute.

  • Step 4:

Add the red wine, turn up the heat a little, stir and reduce the liquid by half.

  • Step 5:

Stir in the tomatoes, water, Bisto Beef Reduced Salt Gravy Granules and bay leaf, simmer for a few minutes. Turn the heat down, cover with the lid and cook on low for 45 minutes. Stir the Bolognese occasionally to stop it sticking. While the sauce is simmering, cook your garlic bread.
